Market Research

1000 Minds and Reputations have come together to bring you the power of conjoint analysis, one of the best market research analysis.

About 1000Minds

1000minds is an online suite of tools and processes to help individuals and groups with their Decision-Making, and to understand people’s preferences via Conjoint Analysis.

1000minds tools and processes are for decision-makingprioritization and Conjoint Analysis (also known as Choice Modelling and Discrete Choice Experiments, DCEs).

Depending on your application, 1000minds can also help you think about the value for money of alternatives and allocate budgets or other scarce resources.

As well as standalone tools, customisable surveys are available for group decision-making, involving as many participants as you like – 10s, 100s or 1000s of people, depending on what you want to do.

Since 2002

Invented by Professor Paul Hansen and Franz Ombler, 1000minds arose from research at the University of Otago in the 1990s into methods for prioritizing patients for surgery, resulting in our discovery of the PAPRIKA method.

With myriad applications across all sectors, PAPRIKA and 1000minds were quickly recognised as a revolutionary new approach to Multi-Criteria Decision-Making and Conjoint Analysis, including winning awards for innovation.

The original version of 1000minds was launched in 2002, with new features added regularly over the next 15 years.

A major update with a beautiful new interface and cool new features created by an extraordinary group of software developers and designers led by Julian Moller and Kieran Paton was released in 2019 (News »). We believe 1000minds is now the best software of its kind in the world.

“Great power and sheer elegance”

When 1000minds won a Consensus Software Award (sponsored by IBM and Microsoft), the judges commented:

In removing complexity and uncertainty from decision-making processes, 1000minds has blended an innovative algorithm with a simple user interface to produce a tool of great power and sheer elegance.

The natural simplicity of how 1000minds elicits and applies decision-makers’ preferences means you can have confidence in the accuracy of your results.

Also, 1000minds is fast and scaleable – e.g. depending on your application, large numbers of alternatives can be entered, or just a few. And potentially 1000s of people can participate in 1000minds surveys.

Academic credibility

As well as our commercial clients, engagement with academics and students is very important to us.

1000minds is used for research and teaching at 360+ universities and other research organisations worldwide, resulting in 950+ papers and research projects, including 100s of peer-reviewed publications and post-graduate degrees.
